Getting Started
Do I need an account to read posts?
No. All open boards are publicly readable without an account (some boards unlock in later waves). Posting just needs a free account with a verified email.
How do I post?
Register for a free account and verify your email. You'll then see a reply form at the bottom of every thread and a "New Thread" button on board pages.
What are the subscription tiers?
Three tiers: Free (read & post), Practitioner (the Luna astrology app + saved charts), and Pro (a deeper tier still taking shape — opening later). See the Pricing page for full details.
Is there a free trial or refund?
Free accounts can read all boards without a time limit, no card required — so you can see what STARCHAN is before paying for anything. There’s no timed trial for paid features; instead, paid plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Within 30 days of your first payment you can request a refund yourself from your account settings — whatever way you paid, we issue it immediately (the money typically lands back on your original payment method within 5–10 business days) and your access ends right away. A refund is one-time per account and per payment method — a payment method that has been refunded once can’t use the guarantee again on this or any other STARCHAN account. You can also simply cancel anytime, and your plan stays active through the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
Using the Forum
What is sage?
Checking the sage box before replying prevents your post from bumping the thread to the top of the board. Use it when your reply is a minor addition or off-topic comment.
What is greentext?
Start a line with ">" to make it green. Used for quoting, irony, and storytelling. Example: > be me / > never learned astrology.
How do I quote someone?
Click the post number (e.g., >>42) to insert a quote link into your reply. Hovering over a quote link shows a preview of the quoted post without scrolling.
How do I upload an image?
When composing a post or new thread, use the image upload field. Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP. Maximum size: 5MB.
What does "archived" mean?
Threads with no new replies after a certain period are automatically archived. Archived threads are read-only — you can view them but can no longer reply.
How do I search?
Use the search bar in the board navigation (top of every page). Search covers post body text across all boards.
Moderation & Safety
How do I report a post?
Click the Report button on any post. Select a reason and submit. Moderators review all reports.
I was banned — what do I do?
If you believe the ban was in error, email abuse@starchan.ai with your username and an explanation. A moderator will review your appeal.
Can I delete my own posts?
No. Only moderators can delete posts. This is intentional — it preserves conversation context. See the Rules page for the moderation philosophy.

What is Luna?
Luna is a full-featured Vedic astrology application available to Practitioner and Pro subscribers at /astro. It provides natal charts, dashas, and more.
What chart formats are supported?
North Indian and South Indian chart formats. You can switch between them anytime from the Luna sidebar.
