Community Rules

Effective for all boards — Updated July 2026

1. The Short Version

  • Be respectful. Disagree with ideas, not people.
  • Keep posts on topic for the board you're posting in.
  • Post in English.
  • No spam, no illegal content, no personal information.

2. Posting Rules (All Boards)

  • English only. STARCHAN is an English-language community — posts and threads in other languages may be removed. (Quoting a classical source in its original language alongside an English translation is fine.)
  • Stay on topic for the board you are posting in.
  • No personal attacks, insults, or harassment of other users.
  • No spam or unsolicited self-promotion.
  • No illegal content of any kind.
  • No doxxing — do not post personally identifying information about anyone.
  • No impersonation of other users, public figures, or moderators.
  • Use sage for off-topic replies that do not add to the thread discussion.
  • One account per person — ban evasion via new accounts will result in permanent bans.

3. Per-Board Rules

Boards open in waves — /general/ and /feedback/ unlock first, in the first weeks after launch.

  • /feedback/ — Post bug reports, feature requests, and beta feedback. Be constructive. No spam or duplicate reports.
  • /general/ — Open astrology discussion. Introduce yourself, ask anything, share charts.
  • /practice/ — Intermediate technique discussion. Show your work. Sources appreciated. Coming soon — unlocks in wave 3.
  • /advanced/ — Advanced analysis for experienced practitioners. Assume baseline knowledge. Coming soon — unlocks in wave 4.
  • /setups/ — Share your Luna configuration with screenshots. Explain your choices. Coming soon — unlocks in wave 5.
  • /b/lack hole — Anonymous posting only. All global rules still apply. Coming soon — unlocks last.

4. Image Rules

  • Images must be relevant to the post or thread topic.
  • Maximum file size: 5MB. Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP.
  • No graphic violence or gore.
  • No NSFW content except on /b/ (when launched).
  • Watermarked content must credit the original source in the post body.

5. Account & Subscription Rules

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.
  • One account per person. Account sharing is prohibited.
  • A free account with a verified email can read and post on all open boards. (Some boards unlock in later waves.) The Luna application and saved charts require a Practitioner subscription.
  • Subscription and billing terms are governed by the Terms of Service.

6. Consequences & Reporting

Moderators may issue: post deletion, a warning, a temporary ban (24h to 30 days), or a permanent ban — based on severity and history. Banned users who create new accounts to continue posting will have their new accounts permanently banned. Appeals: email abuse@starchan.ai with your username and a brief explanation.

Use the Report button on any post to flag it for moderator review. Include a reason. For urgent reports (NCII, illegal content): abuse@starchan.ai — these are reviewed within 24 hours.
